🥕 How to advertise... 💣️
Today we have another installment in the 9 steps to making money online.
Today we cover ADVERTISING.
🥕 How To Advertise… 💣️
Let me start with this. Advertising is not for everyone. If there is one field that you should study before “doing it”, it’s advertising.
If you don’t know what you are doing and are just looking with wing it… I got news for you. Not only are you going to have no results, but you’ll blow a bunch of money needlessly.
Even a basic understanding of a strategy, with a few bucks behind it, is better than shooting in the dark.
There are lots of industries and fields. And ad strategy is different, depending on what your goals are.
I’ve been running ads for the better part of the last decade and have generated 8-Figures from them. Since I can’t fit what I’m about to say into your specific niche, I’m going to give you my best advice.
If you’ve never ran ads, or just tried them here and there, there are lots of free resources online to learn the craft. If you go on YouTube and search for Facebook Ads (with your niche), go through and watch at least 5-10 in depth videos on the subject. Don’t skip this step, for the love of God. This is foundational.
Think of one idea (based on your niche) for the ad and then go deeper and think of 10 creatives that match the idea. This is a good time to think creatively and outside the box. I always do the exercise of coming up with ideas that “would get banned” and then scale them down so that they are polarizing but right on the line of controversy. And believe me, you want some controversy.
Test one idea at a time. If your budget is $10/day, take the 5 best creatives for the idea and make ads for them. It can be picture or video. It doesn’t matter at this point. You’ll be surprise at what scales and what doesn’t. Often time it’s the idea you kinda glossed over that ends up being the winner.
LET THEM RUN! People cut their ads too short on time. A great rule of thumb is , whatever you charge for your product or service, you have to let the ad spend at least that much before you make your decision on it. I’ve had plenty of times where the ad started very slow and then absolutely exploded.
Set up one campaign for the idea and your 5 ads in it (variations). All for $5-$10 per day. After a week or 2, you’ll see which ads are performing best. It’s a safe bet that you should turn off the ones that are underperforming and leave the good ones on so that more of the budget goes there.
Once you start cutting ads, you better have another idea and creatives ready to go. Make the new ones and post them. There is nothing wrong with having dozens of ads running at the same time. Cut the losers and keep running the great ones.
If you do this for the next few months, you will absolutely find a few that do really well. When they bring in clients, you’ll be happy to spend more and more on the ad. Plus you know what’s performing well, so you can make more of the similar.
