Today I want to give you some words of encouragement.

I had a conversation with someone yesterday who’s been having a hard time connecting with their small audience and growing on X.

If you look around platforms like X, Facebook, Instagram and others, you’ll notice that 95% of all content looks and sounds the same.

Why?

Because everyone is trying to copy everyone and sound as smart as possible. The belief is that if I sound smart and “with it”, others will bow down and automatically follow me.

Nope!

You want to know what content actually helps you grow a committed, engaged audience? The audience that’s invested wholeheartedly in YOU.

Think about all the people that you love to follow… Why do you do it?

It because you love THE PERSON, not the channel. You find them interesting, you find them inspiring.

But you know what they would tell you?

I’m not that inspiring and I’m not that interesting, I just share my journey as it comes along.

And that’s the key.

In order for you to have an amazing audience, you need to be unique. And because there are no 2 people who are alike in the world, that automatically makes you unique.

You just have to get over thinking that you aren’t interesting, or even boring.

If you have friends (I hope), they love you for the person that you are… The good, the bad and the ugly. More than anything, they love you because when you are with them, you are real. And that’s what makes you unique.

The more you can open up on your profiles and be with your audience like you are with your friends, the more engaging your profile becomes.

You are much rather have 1,000 people who absolutely adore you VS 10,000 people that follow you who couldn’t care less.

Be real. Be vulnerable. Ask and answer the tough questions. Be quirky. Have fun. Don’t be afraid to share the real you.

Your future self will thank you for it.
