🥕 How to actually grow on X (Twitter)... 🧠

Hope you had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful in my part of the world.

Ok, let’s get to it.

How To Actually Grow On X (Twitter)… 🧠

A good % of you found this newsletter on X, others on Facebook and IG.

If you ask me, I think everyone and their furry dog needs to grow their accounts on X.

Whatever business you are in, the platform really gives everyone a chance to stand out and grow a following.

Most of you know that we JUST launched our first tweet 30 days ago.

Since then we’ve gotten 90+ engaged followers, 20k in impressions, as well as lots of shares, bookmarks and comments.

And that’s an account without a “real name” or a profile pic of my pretty face.

With over 300 million monthly users, the competition of eyeballs is fierce. So this growth already puts us in the top 1% of all accounts.

Having said all that, below is my strategy for X. To go from 100 to 1,000 we will be implementing more things, which we’ll discuss in the future newsletters.

  1. Don’t sweat the profile pic, cover photo or the bio. I’m not saying they aren’t important. They are. But spending days trying to optimize it is a complete waste of time. Uploading a normal pic of yourself and stating your simple mission for the profile should take you a few minutes. Don’t overthink this.

  1. Now before you go and work your engaging magic, you need to write a post or 2. Newsflash: they won’t be perfect. In fact, you never know which post will resonate with the masses. Sometimes the most profound thoughts get a couple views. Other times something simple and “half-assed” blows up and gets millions of hits. YOU JUST DON’T KNOW WHICH ONE IT’LL BE. So again, don’t sweat it. The best thing you can do is speak as the real you. Real thoughts, real emotion, real things you are working on. If your goal is to grow your account, talk about it. Don’t be scared to say “yea I got 5 followers but here’s how I’m going to get to 500”. Be you, talk about you.

  1. Time to make friends! This is the fun part. If you are new to X and aren’t following anyone, search for the keywords of the topics you want to talk about. Click around accounts that are doing well. Follow them and people who engage/comment on their posts. You should be doing this multiple times a day and following at least 20-40 new people daily when starting out.

  1. Engage! Now go into your followers feeds and like, comment and engage on their posts. Don’t just write “awesome”. Give a thoughtful input to what they are saying. Add value, be fun, support them. You should be doing this for at least 1-2 hours per day. Mix it in throughout your day.

  1. Anytime to open up X, go into the feed, refresh it, comment and engage on all the tweets you see. If someone comments back on your posts, which they will, go follow them and thank them by commenting and engaging on their stuff. Reciprocity is massive here.

  1. Send people a DM when you see an awesome profile and commend them on their great posts. Anytime someone new engages with your posts, send them a message with a thank you. Be real. Let them know you want to grow your account and ask them if they have any tips. This opens up a conversation and builds real friendships.

If you do this consistently for 30 days, day in and day out… I have no doubt you will get the same (or bigger) engagement that we got.

It’s always tougher in the very beginning. Just like anything else, it takes time. But the rewards are massive. You can build a real business on X.

Our next goal is 500 and we’ll get there in no time.
